Dave Hamilton, I was wondering how your weekend went in Topeka at the Pinks race. Please give us the scoop.

Sorry it took so long Joe, my day to day has been very busy since July 17th weekend. to answer your question It was a great experience, the whole family went to Topeka, It was a successful trip no break downs there and back with out incident.
we arrived Thursday morning and got parked by 11:00am. the atmosphere was thick, they parked us in order by number, I was number 89, there was 380 cars. They tech-ed us also by groups of 25. 2 rows of cars through the tech barn. I was one of few that started my car to move through tech. They must have liked that cause ESPN camera crew came over and filmed me and the car. we got 2 qualifying rounds Friday on the .400 pro tree, I was running 10.70's in 101 heat and 80% humidity.
Saturday morning we had a drivers meeting with Rich and crew explaining the rules and basically repeating we need to run all out.First qualifying pas was off the tree and they watched closely and the second qualifying pass was on Rich. They then called us all by foot through the tower and up to the starting line for them to pick the 32 car class. They ended up picking the low 11.00 second class. Our neighbor got picked. It was cool with all the midway stuff and exhibition cars. then once the lights came on and darkness fell they got the show on the road. It was cool to see it live. The Heartland Park show should air next week on SPEED channel it usually plays on Thursday. I will post once I find out for sure.
