I didnt know you could pick your opponent when racing at BIR. This past sunday during first round of bracket 2 a certain racer decided he didnt want to run the car he was paired with. Even after being told to move over and pair up he just sat there and waited. I have never seen this before and hope it doesnt happen again maybe he didnt want to get taken out by the same camp in both bracket 1 and 2.

It happened to me on sunday. The guy pulling the balls paired me with Faust. I ended up running Jim Lambrecht.

Hmmm...well, SuperPro---I was the 'duck' you ran in Rd2 of Bracket 1. lol I couldn't buy a round this weekend.......I'm taking some time off to go fishing now.

I was disappointed in the lack of track prep. I found it pretty poor. I never once noticed them spraying the track...only dragging the first 100' or so.

Crap, guess it should have been opponent. Has been a long time since school. We do not mean to whine but if they are going to let this happen then next time i get paired up with Schmalls, Rohers, Milton or my team car then ill just wait and run someone else.

Scott...that move was called my car finally hooked in the middle part... All I could do was run it down there and punch the brakes. You had me by .03 or so on the tree...

The situation was unexpected and unclear how he was paired the way he was. Track staff at the head of staging should know exactly what transpired and why. I have a lot of respect for this veteran driver and then also ended up paired against him in this round described.
I knew something wasn't right but there wasn't any time to whine about it. Who didnt he want to race back there ? The same guy he raced in bracket 1 or something ?

-POSTED ON BEHALF OF JOYCE JOHNSON, HEAD OF STAGING-

Racers,

First of all I would like to say that if you ever see anything happening that shouldn't be, please let me know. I don't consider it whining.

I always try to watch when cars are being paired and I can explain what happened. Twice I noticed that the lanes were not paired evenly, therefore another car had to be pulled to get the pairs corrected. Nobody was cheating but as you know this will throw off the pairings. As the head of staging I will take the blame for what happened, I should have let the driver(s) know what happened and who they would be racing. From now on this will be watched much closer by the person pairing cars, I’ve been in staging long enough to know this is very serious.

I apologize for any miss understanding this has caused. I also want to apologize to the racer being blamed for cheating.

Joyce Johnson

I wouldn't say it was cheating but thanks so much for clarifying.
I assummed there would be a logical explanation. Thanks Joyce.
