I see the Reserved Parking price did not go down in 2008---even though there is one Bracket Event less. But, it did remain the same I guess...$200 for no electric, $275 with electric.

Last year I had a few issues where the electricity wouldn't even run the battery chargers in June and July let alone the air. They stated new outlets have been installed and that wont be a problem in 2008. I reluctantly paid the $275 for 2008 and hopefully there wont be any issues with those breakers again this year. I had to run my generator for the June and July race in 2007.It would be nice if those frustrations could be eliminated this year.

I'm curious to see what the payout is going to be this season...it's not on BIR's site yet---wonder why??? Hopefully, they will reward the class when there are more than 85 entries. Perhaps if they would 'cut down' on the "Security" staff the payout can go up. I'm not sure what those guys do anyway besides ride around in BIR trucks. I've NEVER seen "Security" at any other track like BIR has.

I'd bet GLD doesn't get 90+ cars either in BOTH S/P and Pro. I've never been there, but it's just a guess.

Joe, do you think the regular BIR crowd would go for combo races? We know the MDRA racers will!
Travis - I have only been to GLD a couple times but they get a pretty decent number of cars over there being right between Milwaukee and Chicago.

Tony, I just don't know who the "regular BIR crowd" is. If we are talking the hardcore Bracket racer "regular BIR crowd" then yes, but the I need more time trials "regular BIR crowd" NO,the Sportsman/Super class I'm here to get ready for the Nationals "regular BIR crowd" NO. As for myself, I'm just trying to be happy now that they're attempting to run a couple of two day races at BIR.

Im in actual disbelief that they are finally running the two day programs and I personally couldn't be happier about it. It's about time. Finally - We can go do some bracket racing instead of camping.

I agree...BUT, until we have the "Bracket Meeting" at Pleasureland RV in St. Cloud on March 22...I'm not sure I believe it. Schedules CAN get changed.
It would be nice if we could get Tim Burns or Scott Quick on here to answer some questions ahead of time.

The 2-day program is just as you say, "a good start." The problem is, you now have a basis to compare the numbers of that 2-day program to other available 2-day programs and the numbers look way out of whack. But racers that really explore their options are the minority. Some don't care much about the numbers, and I guess that is fine too.
Then we get into the fact that you are risking that $160 on a single time run with no safety net (buybacks). I am not a big buyback fan most of the time but if they aren't available I would like one time shot each day.
If I were BIR, I probably wouldn't change a thing. The car count will dictate the correct entry/payout balance and they haven't found one yet that will drive away the racers. They are in business to make money. They currently put roughly 50% of the race entry fees directly into their pocket for Brackets I and II. God only knows what that percentage is on a cash cow like Bracket III who pay the same entry, and 100% profit in the Trophy classes at $45 per car. The racers still show up in droves and put a $275 cherry on top for a parking spot that may or may not provide adequate electricity.

| I don't really see the two day races in Brainerd as big deal for anything other than another points race. It's not really any different than having a gamblers race saturday. If they had a gamblers race saturday as well, that would be different, but they'll have enough trouble just getting one race done. |

At least the Saturday race will be guaranteed and will need to be completed now.
Travis, if your post of classes and info was intended to make a point, I missed it.
