since I own the car and I have all the data from last year. You all saw the dyno results. I am down 20 ft lbs and up 10 HP from last year I am going with 10.80 out of the box.
The dyno guy thought an air cleaner would straighten out the turbulence going into the carb. I think it will slow the car, He thought it would make more Hp. I never ran an air cleaner before.
Believe it or not a guy down the street is into pontiacs and stopped by tonight and asked if I still had it. Yes, he wants to trade a 1966 Tempest that runs and drives for the BOP tranny plus some trade labor on his other Poncho's in the stable he has out back. trying to decide if it's a good deal or not.
How bout the winner gets a 48' goose neck trailer ( Joey ) donations to the cause?
I don't know about making more HP, but a decent air cleaner is rated for more CFM than your carb can flow and will not slow you down. Your oil and cylinder walls will thank you for running one. Plenty of Stock Eliminator racers use them and if it slowed them down .02, they wouldn't. Sure wish we could get one on the Nova but have always had them on the dragsters.
